Robert J. Smith founded our company in 1954 and began our company as Smith Office Equipment Company. The company at that time was primarily involved in selling and servicing office machines. The business started in Mr. Smith's apartment and its first store was later located at 18th and South Street in Lafayette, IN.
Flash forward to 2007, and Smith Office offers machines, furnishings and supplies and office services throughout Indiana, and serves our customers with 3 convenient showrooms. In his time with the company, Brad has assumed the role of warehouse manager, sales, and management the purchasing department, before being promoted to General Manager in 2007. Brad now oversees day-to-day operations.

Sandy worked for Smith Office for 26 years and over the years covered varied departments. After moving to the northern Smith Office territories to help in the sales and customer service departments, Sandy now manages the Logansport and Peru locations, thru the years has met and made some wonderful friends in this industry.

Bill Ridgley Furniture Sales Representative
Bill has been with Smith Office since 1973, but he's been in the office products business much of his life. Bill's primary duties today involve furniture design and sales. Bill is an ambassador for our company, and there are a countless number of companies who do business with us because of Bill, his customer service skills and product knowledge.

Mike Clare IT Manager
Mike is, among other things, our webmaster. He is the go to guy for solving internet problems and all things computer related. An industry recognized expert on the software used to run Smith Office, he brings to Smith 20 years in the computer field. Mike has no hobbies, because he works all the time!

Judy Clare Furniture Division
Our furniture designer, Judy Clare, has over 31 years experience in office design. She has in depth product knowledge, and is proficient in the use of Giza 2020 software used for creating CAD drawings and furniture specifications. Judy is equally comfortable designing for individuals setting up a home office, or working with architects and contractors on multi-story office buildings.
